D-2 Visa Information
D-2 visa is issued to international students studying for a degree at Korean universities or graduate schools.
Important Notice
D-2 visa holders must obtain a part-time work permit before starting any part-time job.
Part-time Work Permit Conditions
Bachelor's/Master's/Doctoral Course
6 months after enrollment
Meet grade requirement (minimum C average)
School official's confirmation
Maximum 20 hours per week allowed
Language Course
6 months after enrollment
Meet attendance requirement (90% or higher)
TOPIK Level 3 or higher
Maximum 10 hours per week allowed
Restrictions and Special Cases
Industry Restrictions
Cannot work in entertainment establishments, manufacturing factories, or construction sites.
Special Cases
Time limit may be extended for TOPIK Level 4 or higher, or GPA 3.0/4.5 or higher
Vacation Period
No time limit during vacation, but requires immigration office confirmation.

- Apply via HiKorea website or at immigration office
- Required: Employment contract, business registration, enrollment certificate, transcript
- Permit usually issued same day or within 1-3 days
